In the near future, the film follows Teresa (Brbara Colen), who returns to Bacurau, a semi-arid Brazilian village, to attend her grandmother’s funeral. Arriving there, Teresa immediately saw signs that Bacurau was in trouble. Inadequate basic facilities, mobile phone networks are declining, clean water supply is curbed and trucks with drinking water are equipped with bullet holes. It soon became clear that the corrupt rulers had completely left the village: Bacurau was not only completely removed from the map, but the civilians were also attacked. As leaders, the villagers should complete regular matches to prevent further damage.
