The film, published in the near future, tells the story of Teresa (Brbara Colen), who returns home in Bacurau in a dry speech in Brazil to attend her grandmother’s funeral. Upon arriving, Teresa immediately notices a sign that Bacurau is in trouble. Basic services are missing, cell phone coverage is lost, clean water supplies are slowing, and a potable water truck arrives with bullet holes. It soon becomes clear that the corrupt government has completely abandoned the village: Bacurau has not only been literally removed from the map, but its citizens are under attack. As responsibility draws closer, the villagers must organize an organized resistance to avoid major harm.
